Come learn about the Project Ares, the online game you'll be using to learn cybersecurity. We need to set everyone up with accounts, so come prepared with a username! You can create teams here as well. Learn about the three areas where you'll be playing games, playing different job roles, and taking on defensive/offensive missions! -

This workshop will give an overview user-centered design, participatory design, and creative capacity building as design approaches that technologists can use to create social impact. Using real-life examples and hands-on ideation techniques, the workshop will help participants identify ideas around how their technological skills can be put to good use and improve lives in underserved areas.

Learn the basics of HTML and CSS. You will get a pre-build web page that you can work on to contuine building on the for the rest of the hackathon. -

Build a simple app with Swift and XCode.
Requirements: Must have a Mac Computer! You can only develop iOS apps on a Mac, there is no software to develop iOS with a Windows machine. Must have Xcode installed! Xcode may take a while to install, so if you do not have it installed, give yourself 1-2 HOURS to install Xcode. You may be required to update your operating system to install the latest Xcode. You can download Xcode from the Apply Store. -
2-4pm, Sat, Feb 10ATLAS 100Advanced Web Development: ReactJS and Firebase

Getting started on building & deploying a web app using React JS
Want to learn how to build a dynamic real-time web app? During this code lab, we will show you the basics to create your own web app using the javascript framework, React JS. We will also use Firebase, a real-time database, to make our app dynamic and store data to the cloud. Finally, we’ll demonstrate how to publish your app out to the public.
Pre-requirements: Some web development and programming.
Software Requirements: Bring your computer, download Visual Studio IDE -
5-6pm, Sat, Feb 10ATLAS 113 (BTU Lab)Intro to Git and GitHub
Learn about version control. Git is software that allows teams to store their code on the cloud, so anybody from that team can pull and push their team's code. GitHub is a website that offers free space for teams to store their code online.
Pre-requirements: Before this workshop, create a free sccount on GitHub. (You'll also be able to use this account to sign into Devpost when you submit your projects.) -
7-8pm, Sat, Feb 10ATLAS 100Advanced Web Development: VueJS and Firebase
Build a minimum viable CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) application in 30 minutes using VueJS and Firebase. We love this demonstration because it serves as an easy gateway into some more advanced JavaScript, and also rapidly prototypes the core actions for potentially much larger apps.
Pre-requirements: Some web development and programming.
